Tustin Is Made for Growing Grapes

Your Backyard Has More Potential Than You Think

Tustin sits in the heart of Orange County with a true Mediterranean climate — warm, dry summers and mild winters that give grapevines exactly the growing conditions they thrive in. The area benefits from consistent sun exposure throughout the growing season, with temperatures cooling in the evenings. Soils in Tustin are predominantly sandy loam and alluvial in character, offering good drainage and aeration for vine root development. These are the same fundamental conditions that have supported agricultural production across the region for generations.

Warm Days, Cool Nights

The daily temperature swing is exactly what wine grapes need to develop bold flavor without losing freshness. Your vines will love it here.

Consistent Sun All Season

Tustin's Mediterranean climate delivers reliable sun exposure from spring through fall, giving your vines the energy they need to ripen fruit fully and develop concentrated flavor.

Sandy Loam Soils That Drain Well

Tustin's sandy loam soils drain freely and allow vine roots to establish deeply without sitting in moisture — a profile that supports strong, productive vines over time.

A Long Growing Season

Spring through late fall, your vines have months to develop. Harvest season in Tustin typically runs August through October.

More Than Landscaping

A Long-Term Asset for Your Tustin Property

Private vineyards do more than look beautiful. They change how a property is experienced, used, and valued.

Estate Distinction

A private vineyard elevates your Tustin property with rare, visually striking landscaping that no neighbor can easily replicate.

Private-Label Wine Production

Grapes grown on your property can be professionally harvested and bottled under your estate's label, resulting in a wine made from your own land.

Productive Use of Terrain

Hillsides and slopes that resist conventional landscaping are transformed into functional, beautiful vineyard rows.

Agricultural Classification Potential

Vineyard installations of 50 or more plants may qualify for income tax deductions under California agricultural provisions. We can walk you through what applies to your parcel.

What We Do in Tustin

Full-Service Vineyard Design, Installation & Care

My Home Vineyard handles everything, from the first shovel in the ground to your first harvest. We've planted and managed hundreds of vineyards across Southern California, and we bring focused knowledge of Orange County's growing conditions to every project. That means selecting the right varieties for Tustin's microclimate, designing irrigation for the area's dry summers, and providing the ongoing management that keeps your vineyard productive year after year.

  • Vineyard Design & Consultation

We visit your property, assess your microclimate, soil, and sun exposure, and build a plan around your actual yard.

  • Professional Installation

We handle all the physical work: soil preparation, trellis construction, drip irrigation setup, and planting. Every vine is planted with care, spaced correctly, and oriented to take advantage of Temecula's afternoon breeze.

  • Ongoing Vineyard Management

The warm summers create real disease pressure, particularly Pierce's Disease, spread by the glassy-winged sharpshooter. Our seasonal management plans include proactive monitoring and strategies that reduce risk year after year.

  • Private Winemaking Services

Grapes grown on your property can be professionally harvested and bottled under your own estate label. We coordinate the full winemaking process so you can enjoy wine made from your own land.

  • Harvest Support

We help you pick at the right moment, handle the fruit carefully, and get you set up for winemaking if that's the direction you want to go.

  • Vineyard Rehabilitation

We assess the problem honestly, tell you what's recoverable, and put a realistic plan together to bring your vineyard back.

Is Your Property a Fit?

Ideal Properties for a Tustin Home Vineyard

Most properties in Tustin have more potential than people expect, including hillsides and slopes that are difficult to landscape any other way. Here's what we look for:

  • Hillside or sloped terrain
  • 6+ hours of direct sun exposure
  • Well-draining soil
  • Sufficient space for vine row minimums
  • Long-term ownership objectives

Not sure if your property qualifies? We assess your property during the consultation and tell you straight whether it's a good fit.

Homeowners Who Want Beautiful Landscaping

Grapevines are striking. They change with the seasons, grow full and lush, and give your yard a character that no other plant quite matches, especially here in wine country.

Property Owners Thinking About Resale Value

A well-maintained home vineyard is a genuine selling point in Tustin. It adds visual appeal and a story that buyers remember.

Families Who Want Something to Tend Together

There's a seasonal routine to vineyard work: pruning, training, and harvesting. Some families find that a worthwhile thing to build a year around.

Homeowners Looking for Low-Water Landscaping

Once established, grapevines are remarkably drought-tolerant. Mature vines can tap deep groundwater and need far less irrigation than a lawn.

The Process

How We Build Your Tustin Home Vineyard

  • Step 1: Free Consultation

We come to your property, walk the yard with you, and talk through your goals, your space, and your budget. No obligation.

  • Step 2: Custom Vineyard Design

We put together a plan built around your specific lot, variety selection, vine count, row layout, trellis system, and irrigation design.

  • Step 3: Installation Day

Our crew handles everything: soil prep, trellis installation, drip line setup, and planting. We work cleanly and leave your yard in great shape.

  • Step 4: First-Year Care

The first year is critical. We check in regularly, make sure irrigation is dialed in, and train the young vines so they establish the right structure.

  • Step 5: Ongoing Management (Optional)

Once your vineyard is up and running, we offer seasonal maintenance plans: pruning, vine training, canopy management, and harvest support.

Most Tustin vineyards start producing usable fruit in their second or third year. With the right care in year one, you set yourself up for a much better harvest down the road.

Who We Are

A Family Business with 15+ Years of Southern California Vineyard Experience

My Home Vineyard was founded by George Walker in Rancho Cucamonga in 2005, right in the heart of Southern California's original grape-growing country. What started as one man's passion for bringing that tradition to residential properties has grown into a family business trusted by hundreds of homeowners across the region.

Today, Clayton Walker leads the team. He grew up working vineyards alongside his father, spent years learning every stage of the growing cycle firsthand, and has personally designed and installed over 100 home vineyards.

We've planted vineyards everywhere from Bel Air to San Diego, in yards ranging from compact urban lots to quarter-acre estates. We're not a general landscaping company that installs grapevines on the side. Vineyards are all we do and homeowners across Temecula, Murrieta, and Riverside County trust us because of it.
